The following was again before the House in third reading: CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 28(FIN) "An Act relating to the possession of weapons within the buildings of, grounds of, or on the parking lot of preschools, elementary, junior high, and secondary schools or while participating in a school-sponsored event; requiring the expulsion or suspension of students possessing deadly weapons on school grounds; requiring reports to the Department of Education concerning those expulsions or suspensions; and relating to school lockers and other containers provided in a public or private school by the school or the school district." Representative Porter moved and asked unanimous consent that CSHB28(FIN) be returned to second reading for the specific purpose of considering Amendment No. 2. There being no objection, it was so ordered. Amendment No. 2 was offered by Representative Porter: Page 2, line 18: Delete "21 years of age or older" Insert "who otherwise may lawfully possess a deadly weapon or a defensive weapon" Representative Porter moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 2 be adopted.
